On October 1st 2006, The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety order) came into force. This is a major change in legislation and fire certificates are no longer issued or in force. As an employer, or as someone who has control of a workplace you must take steps to ensure that you have what is known as a ‘suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment’ in place. This new approach to fire safety law represents the most significant change for over 30 years. The new fire regulations have been introduced to simplify matters and make it more straightforward for people to understand what they should do.Westcountry Fire Protection has many years experience within the field of fire risk assessments. Our fire risk assessments are carried out by personnel that have not only worked as Enforcement Officers within the Fire Service, but have also operated within the commercial sector. This ensures that we are able to sensibly balance fire safety provision with legal and business requirements. Our fire risk assessors are also qualified and experienced in general health and safety so are better able to see the ‘bigger picture’ and ensure that they can recommend control measures, which are compatible with other legislation.Professional membership of organisations such as The Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, The International Institute of Risk and Safety Management and the Institution of Fire Engineers, ensures that we maintain a high level of safety knowledge in an ever-changing environment.

We offer a personal, flexible approach and are committed to providing a highly professional and customer focused service. And are happy to liase with the firee service on your behalf.
